I dreamed that anti-vaxers had stopped vaccinating their dogs after some conspiracy theory surfaced that the dogs were being implanted with tracking chips in secret. They showed pictures of the chips that people voluntarily get implanted in their dogs claiming it was a CIA tracking device injected surreptitiously during rabies vaccines, and millions of gullible people ate it up.

The result? Streets full of rabid dogs, zombie movie style. The one image that stands out was some guy basically sacrificing himself to hold a gate shut as packs of dogs bit him mercilessly through it.

Fucking scary because this is a nightmare that is almost possible. I doubt it would happen on that Romeroesque scale but a rise in rabies cases is par for the course.
