I'm sorry to hear that fa is currently exploiting everyone on their site but tbh I gotta say it was only a matter of time.
Please encourage your followers/commissioners to follow you to other sites where you feel more comfortable please! Remember you as an artist are important for the growth of any gallery website and commissioners will always go where the art is!
You are important and deserve respect for your work and to be able to post safely!

This is why I don't put all my eggs in the same basket. As an artist wishing to live off of art, don't it make sense to branch out as much as possible anyways? xDD

Who knows I don't try to keep up with it much but it blew my twitter up and tbh it's nasty what they're doing over there... Really putting artists in such a shit place these days and I understand that people need to sell their work but is it going to be worth it to have their art straight up stolen for imvu advertisement purposes with no consent other than from dragoneer?

Exactly. I just don't get artists that arent willing to try other sites because FA is more popular, sure thats ok now but in the long run?
Really just need to at least TRY branching out.. I know of a few artists that make a living an don't even use FA-
I understand that it's hard to move from site to site esp for some ND people I just seriously hope that they will move somewhere better before something bad happens to them.

I have to admit, the future of furry stuff looks bleak. This seems like it could be the final nail in the coffin of FA, since I expect major changes to come from this in an effort for IMVU to monetize the site.
But, while more people are going to other websites now, people are going to a bunch of /different/ ones. IB, Weasyl, SoFurry, even back to DA. The lack of a "major fandom hub" is going to hurt all sales. I like weasyl, but I have never made a sale from this site.
I just. Sigh. Bleh.-
Idk if you remember this but the whole reason people went to fa was because furry was banned from ygallery and vcl .... And Whatever happened with that. Furry oriented places have always gone down and others will pick up over time

Nope, I didn't know that. I never used those sites, and only reluctantly moved to FA because people made me. I was comfy on DA and didn't wanna move haha.

sorry i mistyped on my tablet but VCL like went under due to soMETHING i can't remember? not that they banned furry (sorry!) but before FA most furry sites were around and THRIVING and due to changes a lot of people were displaced and thought FA would be the best alternative despite it's low popularity at the time

Ugh I wish it was that simple. I tried it with the whole rape/zoophilia thing and it didn't work. very few followed. I do encourage my followers (and anyone who will listen really) to come here though and I shittalk FA at every available opportunity lol

Yup. I have more than one gallery that I keep updating regularly. I have for quite some time. Of course certain sites are more active than others, but at least I have an established cranny carved out for myself. I've also had links to these other galleries up in my profile on FA (which is my most frequently visited one) and my tumblr (second most). I mean it sucks, but you can only duct tape something large that's falling apart so much before it ends up shitting itself. Which FA has been doing. For a decade.
I have a very hard time being optimistic with this whole debacle. Before FA, I was heavily involved with Gaiaonline, and after it was bought out, it didn't take long before it came very apparent that it was a business focused on revenue. IMVU is a business. They're investing to a niche community to try and turn a profit. There's no reason to believe otherwise, because they're going to want their investment to pay off, plain and simple. I've seen people be like "Well they've been involved since January and nothing's changed!!" No shit. It's going to take a little while for the ball to get rolling, but once it does it's probably not going to stop.
Yeah, Dragoneer is supposedly still in charge of creative input, but he's got a boss now, and if they say jump he'll have to ask how high. If they want there to be, let's say, premium accounts, then there's going to be premium accounts one way or another. If Neer doesn't want to go through with it, it won't matter because unless it's in writing that he's allowed to make that kind of call without IMVU vetoing his choice, he can be replaced.
