THIS AFFECTS ALL COMMISSIONS PAID FOR AS OF MARCH 13TH, 2015
After talking to some friends and comparing notes about business practices I've decided some changes are in order. Nothing bad happened, don't worry! These changes are mostly to the TOS but some other areas as well.
- Prices are no longer shown on the public queue! I hadn't thought of it but some people pointed out that it's not really anyone's business how much Person A spent on their artwork lol
- Streams (and by extension stream sketch commissions) happen often enough now that I can add their rules to the TOS.
- Will/Will Not Draw list modified for clarity
- I will no longer auto-decline commissions for characters labeled as "herms", "dickgirls", or "cboys". However, these terms still make me uncomfortable and will be accepted or denied on a case-by-case basis. Note, I am still totally comfortable with characters labeled as transgender or intersex.
- Clarification of the deadlines section
- Clarification of the fees section
- New revision rule: Revisions that are made because of the artist’s error are free. Those made because of the commissioner’s error, a mutual misunderstanding, or lack of communication are not.
- Clarification of the additional materials section
- Clients who have inquired now have TWO WEEKS to pay before being removed from the pending list, as opposed to the previous one week. This is to allow people to wait for payday.
- New rules regarding artist's usage: "By paying for a commission the client agrees that the artist may make and sell prints of the completed piece, regardless of content. The client may choose to pay an extra fee to ensure that
there will not be prints made of their piece. If a client wants a print of their commission, they may purchase it at cost rather than the sale price."
- New rule regarding client's usage: "The client may have prints of their work made for their own personal use or as gifts. They
cannot sell prints of the work."
- New rule regarding cancellation: "The artist reserves the right to modify, rework, and reuse cancelled commissions for any
purpose. The commissioner’s characters will not appear in the modified version."
- Commissions may or may not go through a Google Form in the future. I haven't decided yet.
