Man. I really hate SoFurry's rating system. by Zielregen
I feel like I gripe about this a lot, but I hate their rating system. Like, I posted Alpha Omega there the other day and now it's got a 1 star rating. It's got the lowest rating physically possible and it makes me feel like shit whenever I see that. Like, There's literally a story on there that someone posted that is just a link to the word document on their hard drive. C:// and everything. The link doesn't work obviously, but it still has a higher rating than something I sank weeks into -_-
That's why I don't post a large percentage of my stories there. I know it's kinda me being bratty, but I feel like I'm being punished if I don't post stuff that has mass appeal. Like, I tag all my stuff so you know ahead of time what you're getting into, but people still like to shit on stuff that is not their cup of tea. I feel like people there use the rating system as a sort of way to force creators to only cater to their specific interests as opposed to using it as a critique tool.
Speaking of which. I have a buncha stuff to post here, don't I? This site's unique markup system makes it so I can't just copy paste everything from other sites I post to and I get a little lazy at times. I'll fix that here soon.

To be honest, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the dude who downranked that story was the same one who was giving me the lecture on the subtleties and intricacies of dog dongs.

Haha. There was this dude basically lecturing me on how canine fur character needed to have a knot of their cock and that this was a grievous oversight and was obviously a matter of me not knowing enough about dog dongs and so I needed to have a lengthy lecture on the importance of dog dicks and proper knotting protocols and procedures.

Now that you mention it I may have seen it on an imageboard where a whole slew of anons were laughing at the ridiculousness of said dude and his hardon over technical accuracies in a drawn fantasy. It was pretty great. :'D

Sounds like someone might just be following your stories to rate them low? That happens sometimes and it's BALLS and I'm sorry.
I honestly don't think you're being bratty. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to post on a site where people dislike your things IF ANYTHING it's probably better for you that you don't.
