Maybe don't do that? It's kind of frustrating to have to keep on top of that and make sure you're not mistagging things in my gallery.
there used to be an option for that not to be a thing ? idk if there still is. I used to have it disabled
https://redmine.weasyl.com/issues/357 gives details.
I feel like I should apologize, since I'm...damn near the only person I've ever seen use the community tags. This puts me in a frustrating position given that multiple artists here are expressing dissatisfaction with the community tagging system, but they are frequently the only way to get results to pop up in the search engine, since, quite frankly, most people aren't really going to be interested in taking the time to try and figure out every search term that might apply to a given piece, and I have used terms before that are RELATED, for the interest of improving the search experience, even if they are not EXPLICIT to the piece (see also the overlap between 'inflation' and 'growth' in a broad sense, along with other concepts like pregnancy, expansion, etc; this is also true sometimes of things like apparent gender and species when not explicitly stated). I would've thought that there would be at the least some way to turn notifications for that off, but I'd never thought to look.
I do agree with the gist of the Weasyl article that community-based tagging is a good idea, and is strictly superior to site-mandated categories or a complete lack of any categorization/search functionality, but if it's upsetting multiple people, then I guess I'll stop doing it for now? I mean, if I ever added anything out of line, you could have reported me.
As it stands, I wish someone had messaged me on this, I didn't realize it was so frustrating for so many, and now I'm not sure what to do about the issue. I've got all of about two neurons to rub together when it comes to remembering names and people, so simply keeping track of who does or doesn't approve of having their images tagged for searching wouldn't really work. Both Weasyl and the artists annoyed by the feature are largely correct in their stances and somehow I've come off as the asshole by trying to improve searches. 8(
This is probably my fault. Sorry.
Naw man, I totally get what you were trying to do and I'm sure you meant nothing but good intentions, but I'm more putting this up here as an unofficial "opt-out" of the system since I can't tick off an option box to turn it off. See, I never placed much stock in the search system, and an added task of personally checking every community added tag to keep inappropriate/malicious tagging at bay is something I'd rather just not deal with.
Not yer fault at all, man. Don't sweat it.

Huh, neat, didn't even know you could do that.
