Back and ready to go! by Nomax

Hey folks!

I've been somewhat inactive over the last few months. I took a break from Furry related stuff and to prepare for a move. Now that that everything is done so far i'll do my best to update this page more frequently again., and the first step will be to update this site with my current commission updates, so that people who might consider getting a painting done by me don't have to awkwardly scramble FA for this stuff. So, here goes:

Terms of Service

last update:11.01.2015

In the following you' will find all the Information about commissions that you should know before purchasing something from me. By ordering a commission you are confirming that you are agreeing to these terms.

  1. Pricing & Payment
All prices listed are open to variation depending on the subject and complexity of the commissioned painting, and so they can exceed the listed amount in some cases. The prices shown are a general estimate of what the majority of customers should expect, and the majority of commissions will range within the listed amounts. I will also always give a quote on the price before I start working
All prices are shown in US Dollars.
The payment method used will be Paypal via an invoice sent from me.
If the commission needs to be done on a particularly tight deadline then i will end up charging an extra fee, which will vary depending on the complexity of the painting and how tight the deadline is.
There are two payment options, either a 50/50 payment , with 50% being paid upfront and the other 50% once the sketch is approved, or just a straight up payment of everything right at the start.

  2. Commission Process:
I work with a commission queue of 5 slots. I don't expect all 5 slots to be taken most of the time, so new commissions will be accepted whenever there is an open spot on the list.
From start to finish a commission should take no longer than a maximum of 4 weeks. This is the time from when I start working on it to the finished piece, the queue time is not included. Should there be an issue that might cause the delay to go beyond 4 weeks then you will receive a notification about it as soon as possible.
Work in progress pictures will be provided whenever it makes sense. This includes at least the sketching phase for both the thumbnails and the finished sketch, though I might also send progress pictures at other points if there is an issue that needs discussing.
Requesting Work in Progress pictures is permitted if held to a reasonable degree. Though keep in mind that waiting for the WIP to be approved will slow down my progress.
Changes can be requested at every WIP, however bigger changes are limited to the sketch phase. (e.g. Pose change, background change etc.) . Smaller changes can be done towards the end as well. Though of course if in doubt then just asking won't hurt!
If the changes that are being requested exceed a reasonable amount then i will need to add an additional fee, unless the changes required are due to an error of myself (e.g. A missing tail/wing )
i will reserve the right to decline changes if they would negatively impact the quality of the final product (e.g. Impossibly bent limbs), or if they clash with my own stylistic approach (e.g. Adding anime-style eyes)

  3. How do I order a commission?
Preferably via E-Mail ( Nomaxfa[at]hotmail.com ) for ease or organization on my part, but the note system of the respective website or Skype (Nomaxfa) is acceptable too.
Write down a description of what you are looking for, this should include the subject or theme or the painting, how many characters and whatever else i should know. It also should include references for the character(s), preferably in a visual medium, but if no visual representation is available then a detailed text description is fine as well. With that information i will be able to give a quote for the price.
If everything is agreed on then i will need the e-mail linked to the paypal account to which i should sent the invoice.and once the payment is handled i will count the commission as an ongoing one.

  4. Payments, cancelations and refunds:
If a cancelation of the commission is requested after I have begun working on it then i can only offer a partial refund depending on how much work has already been done.
Full refunds will only be given if I haven't started working on the commission yet or if the cancelation of the commission is initiated by me.

5.Rights:
Commissions are for personal use only, this means the customer may not use the commissioned painting for commercial purposes.
I will not hold any rights to the characters portrayed unless they are a creation of mine originally. The rights of the characters will stay with the respective rights owner.
All rights for the finished piece remain with the artist.
The customer may not profit from the finished piece in any form. Non-commercial uses such as uploading it to an online gallery (e.g. Furaffinity, Weasyl ) or printing for personal use are permitted.
Usage rights can be negotiated if ,for example the customer wishes to use the painting for commercial use. The new terms will vary depending on the agreement between artist and customer.

Commission Prices:

Once again as an Info, my pricings vary depending on subject and complexity of the requested painting. So if you want further informations about what a particular piece might cost then just drop me a note or an E-Mail.

Full Painting: Starting at 100$
The most open ended of the categories, so best is to just contact me with your idea and i'll give you a quote. Otherwise this category is pretty straight forward, everything that isn't a portrait or a statue commission goes in here.

Portraits:50~100$
Price depends mainly on the complexity of the character.

Statues:70~120$
A bit of a cheaper alternative to a full character painting. Not having to worry about backgrounds , a scenario and the colours of the character makes this type of commission a decent bit cheaper than a regular one. Price can exceed 120$ however if you decide to go crazy with you idea, something like 3 characters in an outside exhibition. The stated pricerange applies to 1 character pictures, and again, price variation is mostly dictated by the complexity of the character.
