Hey friends, how are you doing?
I'm gearing up for my last semester before I earn my Big Degree and that's kind of exciting and scary but also something I feel pretty proud about. Chances are, I won't have any time or energy for commissions since I'm preparing for an exhibition, but expect me to possibly return to them in the summer while I get my bearings and decide what to do next. I might also be selling off big piles of art post-graduation, so look out for that in the near future.
I might also finally be returning to updating Songs of Outcasts. My old tablet died a couple months ago but I've since replaced it with a newer and much better one.
I also want to be clear about myself re: pronouns and language. I don't ID as male or female, I'm genderqueer and mostly feel like neither or somewhere in between. I'd super appreciate if you could use the pronouns they/them when referring to me. I'd also appreciate if you could avoid using any gendered terms for me, ie: "man" "woman" "sir" "miss" "ma'am" etc. Totally okay with the colloquial "hey dude" or "hey man" or "hey bro" as those don't feel to me as inherently gendered in how they're used. I won't flip my shit if people get it wrong, especially if they're meeting me in person, I know it can be confusing or takes a little getting used to.
I'll try to remember the They. I think I use that for you in general already. I'm liking They and It more recently (for me) and He is still as fine.
You are so amazingly awesome. I'm so excited to know you're finally getting to that point and I really truly truly hope it works out for you because you are legit one of the most artistic and talented people I know..and one of the most decent. When I think of 'real' art-art that challenges, that inspires, that has depth and meaning I think of stuff like Songs of the outcasts and of how you pull all this stuff from inside of you and just put it out there. You've helped me grow so much as an artist and as a person and I just want to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart thank you for inspiring me to be a better person.
OK I'm done gushing (for now). I try not to fanboy out because I know it makes people uncomfortable sometimes but all that needed to be said because you deserve kindness and decency and love and most of all you deserve to be appreciated because you are a worthwhile person who makes this universe a better place by being in it. You're worth it so I'm sayin' it.
May love be your guide & serendipity your constant companion, Vanny.
