Controversy Sparked as Cops Turn their backs on Donuts by Tantroo

During a mass gathering of men and women in uniform, one meant to show consolidarity amongst those that serve their communities, a firestorm of controversy has erupted.

"I can't believe they would do such a thing. Do these men not have any respect for the uniform they dawn?" A union representavtive decried.

They presented photo evidence, a picture taken by Joe Marino of the New York Times. This photo has sinc caused ire among officer advocates and citizen alike.

"To turn their back like they did in that photo, how can these people even claim to be officers?" Said Joe Schmoe, a owner of a local doughnut chain. "These officers are defying the very thing that makes them who they are."

When inquired about why they turned their back on the sweet bakery item, one of the officers involved in the act had this to say: "I don't know what you're talking about, I love doughnuts, it's just that at the moment the mayor was giving a speech and we had to pay our respects and face him."

Another officer, who had kept his eyes on the Dunkin replied to this statement saying: "I don't care for their excuses. There is no reason an officer should ever turn their back on a doughnut shop! If the choice is between showing respect to an official, yes even the President himself, or a doughnut shop, a Real officer would never turn away from the doughnut!"

One thing is clear though: the debate over these officer's bold stance in defiance of the peers will not glaze over any time soon.
