It's entirely possible that the con was just caught in the crossfire of the real target, but if you are within the fandom, consider this:
Fandom is a pretty small community, and everyone tends to know everyone else. I'm sure even you have friends who already know, because there's nobody in furry circles who is so low, so vile, that they don't end up collecting a circle of enablers and sycophants. You've seen what some people are willing to do just to sell a dollar commission, the lengths some are willing to go just for some crumb of attention. Imagine what they'll do for $500.
It's just a matter of time, so you might as well give yourself up.

I think this "reward" might not be in furry community's best interest.
While I consider the entire incident to be criminally stupid (whether it was an accident or not), I think that this form of incite is only going to fester problems rather than bring out a fast solution.

Considering some of the vile remarks that people have made in that FA thread, I can easily believe that it was a disgruntled furry who pulled off that attack. I hope they get found out and nailed to the wall.
