Full-time employment get! by Cani Lupine

Corporate recently decided to restructure the staffing, and instead of having several part-time employees, they're reducing the staff and making them full-time. They had to lay off 6 people from our store, including one I was hoping would stay, but I've made the cut and I'm now a full time Express Technician. :) I'm not certified or have a degree in automotive mechanics, but I do the simple stuff like oil changes, new tires, batteries, and flat repairs. The work isn't very hard, the pay is decent, and I get along with almost everyone there (except for one guy who's just kind of a dick).

So what does this mean? Bigger paychecks and new benefits, but less free time. Hopefully I'll be able to set aside some money and use vacation time to start going to conventions again. :) It also means I'll be sticking around the Northern Virginia area for a while, and might find my own place in the coming months.

On the personal front, I'm still living the single life. I did meet a girl around here and we went on a few dates, but that spark just wasn't there, and I'm not about to stay in a one-sided relationship just so I can say I have a mate. I'll wait for the right one to come around. I'll probably be a little too busy for a relationship, anyway. ^^; I do visit some friends on occasion, and there's even a local furmeet group that started up (even though I usually work when they have meets :/ ), so it's not all work and no play.

But yeah, that's what's been going on in my life. Just chugging away, day by day.
