Yet Another Update by Susiron

I've had my bite splint for a few weeks now but it's not really doing any immediate good for my jaw. My jaw still tires very easily, is sore often, and my pressure headaches and tinnitus have not reduced. Granted, my poor sleep schedule probably isn't helping with the headaches...

I've been to a jaw specialist and he's going to try putting me on muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories to see if it will relax my muscles enough to allow my TMJ disc to go back where it belongs (since it's in a slipped position). This specialist also seems convinced that the deformity of my jaw is the result of a previous fracture that has healed and not a birth defect (since there's scar tissue or something around the joint.)

If this doesn't work I could be looking at minor surgery to wash out the joint-- or more advanced surgery to pull the disc back into place and reshape my jawbone if need be.

I have a gripping fear of anesthesia sooooo-- hoping that the muscle relaxants and shit work.

I've been getting my commissions done-- slowly. As for personal artwork... it happens sometimes, but I feel largely unmotivated to do complicated pieces. And when I do, I feel guilty for not putting the effort towards commissions because it's like wasting a rare spurt of energy on something non-vital.
I've been working on a scene commission for Punkaroo though and I'm /nearly/ done with it (I'm also recording it so that will be fun to post!) I just need to put the finishing details on it and it's all good. I'm hoping tomorrow it will be finished??? Though I'm reluctant to say that for certain because I've just been so terrible with deadlines god damn...

Thank you guys for your continued patience is about all I can say otherwise ; _ ; <3

I 100% understand the anesthesia thing. I was super scared when I went in to have my teeth taken out. If you ever hit a low spot and need some cheering up, shoot me a message!

Ahhhh ow I'm sorry about your jaw, that shit sucks. D: Muscle relaxants are fantastic though, just make sure you don't try to drive or anything while you're on 'em haha. And if surgery DOES need to happen, hope that goes well for you. I know anesthesia's scary but it's okay, they're not SO bad. I was pretty scared to be put under too when I had a bit of surgery done a few years ago, but mostly it just felt like I had a really, really good nap. But hey if you ever wanna vent or talk you can always drop me a line, I'll be around. /ouo/
