The black hole that is FNAF. by GuzzleMuzzle

I don't know what it is about "initially cute" things that set everyone off like a chain reaction of stupidity, but here's my two cents:

The new Silent Hill isn't even out yet, and for what the Silent Hill series generally boasts, it's scarier, even though they're ruining it. Never mind Dead Space 2 and the ruined Dead Space 3 that are both also scarier, to say nothing of Dead Space 1.

I guess some people need a proper stepping stone for where their blooming interests in horror-themed works would begin as well, due to being ageblocked from most else.

No, I don't hate FNAF. I think it's pretty rad. But like most "initially cute" things it has this viral quality to it that somehow speaks to people and births rampant suggestions that it's deeper than what it is. Backstory and all, I can't look at something like that and take it more seriously than a story about a Satanically fucked town that twists and warps people's perception of reality right down to the core of what gets them off, to say nothing of stories based around fighting off hordes of monsters out, quote, "where nobody can hear you scream". Never mind however more or less silly stories centered around viral outbreaks that infect and mutate the bodies of sentient beings unto locales turned into cesspools of macabre and stages for skin-of-the-teeth survivalism. But I guess if you want to be accurate on a real life level, it's fair to say that FNAF is in itself its own "viral outbreak", because cute. And furries. Lol.

That is all.
