Some people are using Weasyl... by Thaily

Some people are using Weasyl as a platform to bitch about what's happening on another site, rather than just using it as an awesome alternative for said site. I'm guessing many of these have not read this site's rules, which, like some other site we could mention, also has a rule against "call-out journals".

This is a pretty common sense rule, people. Please don't give mods a hard time about this.

I get that the other site leaves a lot to be desired, but could we just use Weasyl to share our creative work rather than to bitch about another site? That'd be great. The added traffic would be awesome, if they're actually here to use the site for it's intended purpose. But if all that traffic does is bitch and whine about how shitty another site is, I wish they'd just stay there.

Move on. Take a deep breath. Relax. Go look at some pictures of animal-headed people.

    Agreed. Lately I've seen people complaining and not really using the site for it's designated purpose, which is to post one's own art.

        Same, although I still wish some would tag their things properly so that way I didn't click on things that I thought were safe but ended up not being at all.

          Oh yeah, I report incorrect tagging. Mods seem to be pretty good about tending to tickets at least.
          I also add tags, especially when the picture has something that's in my filters. Instantly gone.

            I usually add the tags instead of reporting, but I'm going to try to report it more.

              If the rating is incorrect I'll report it, otherwise tags are the way to go.

    It's so bad that it's spewing on both. people are coming here and going "oh good now we don't have to listen to so-and-so complain about so and so" , or "at least xyz from othersite.com isn't here" which brings the same toxic environment some users were trying to escape.

    I am not the only person who sees this? There's hope after all XD; (not meaning to sound kind of mean, but yeah, noticed for a while now. This whole "FA V. Weasyl" thing is just childish.
