Today after a year and a half of being behind the wheel I finally did it, I locked myself out of my vehicle like a dumbass.
The good news is, I was able to break in and get the keys out in just a few minutes, so I know I'm not totally boned if it ever happens again.
The bad news is that my truck is apparently just slightly more secure than a ziplock bag. 9_6
I've done it too, except my fail added insult to injury:
Me and my roommate went to the Texas Ren Fest and had a good time. Towards the end it got cold and rainy. We went back to my car only for me to realize my doors were locked and my keys? Sitting in the drivers seat. I had to call my mom and get her to come unlock my car. 45 minutes later of sitting in cold and drizzling rain and assuring cops and strangers alike that my car wasn't stuck, my mom comes to the rescue. My roommate now has a pair of keys to my car xD

Aw man. I don't drive but this stuff seems to be on some kind of failure bucket list - you have to get locked out of somewhere at least once in your life.
When I was around 12 I dropped asleep leaving the key inside the lock the way it made impossible for my parents to open the door when they came home from some party. And I slept right though them knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell. I wish I could sleep this soundly these days. :P I don't remember any epic example of locking myself out but knowing me I bet it happened at some point. I probably only remember that story because of how guilty I felt (and mum said stepdad was considering climbing onto our balcony from the next door's balcony and we lived on 11th floor, bloody hell, I'm so glad he didn't go for it, that's just disturbingly scary).
