Fembots everywhere! by wakeangel2001

Hey, did you guys know I'm a huge transformers fan as well as a Sonic fan? Did you also know that I love seeing action figures of female characters, especially from franchises dominated by male characters? Alright now that all of that is out of the way I'm noticing that there are more female characters coming out in the transformers toyline now than in the previous decade, and that is awesome! I think a combination of the popularity of Arcee in Transformers Prime combined with the fan made transformer Windblade has encouraged Hasbro to give the fairer sex more exposure in arguably the most popular action figure line in existence. Before Christmas we will be getting brand new Arcee and Chromia toys, and we already got a new female transformer announced for the upcoming Robots In Disguise cartoon, Strongarm (who is already super popular on tumblr from what I've seen.) I'm old enough to remember when female transformers were either half-hearted repaints of male characters (like the first Blackarachnia) or were designed with simple engineering to save money (like Thunderblast.) Even a couple years ago nearly all the female transformers available at retail were either Arcee or Arcee repaints, and remember how crap Airachnid was? She was the only other female character that wasn't an Arcee repaint and she makes Thunderblast look like a freaking Masterpiece figure! If I were a betting man I'd be willing to say that the next female transformer we may see is Nautica because of her prominence in the comic (also I think her alt mode might be a submarine, which is pretty rare and it would be awesome to see.) I don't really have anything too declarative to say here but I just think this is a cool direction one of my favorite toylines is taking.
