I've had several people trying to get in touch with me over the past few days so I guess I should make a journal.

I'm not dead I still check this site pretty much daily, I just haven't been doing any art. My free time has been thoroughly invested in replaying old Etrian Odyssey games and more recently The Legend of Grimrock 2 (goty).

I skipped doing a quarterly music update because there wasn't actually any new music that I liked between July and September.......

Though I did take the time to get into some stuff from earlier in the year that I missed for whatever reason, like Under Color of Official Right by Protomartyr and Nikki Nack by tune-yards. I also watched the first two seasons of American Horror Story because I am the fastest.

That's pretty much it. How are you folks doing?

Pretty good. I'm jealous; I love the Etrian series. But I had to sell my DS and 3DS earlier this year...blech.

That's extremely unfortunate. But it means you could just get one of the new 3DS models that are coming out next year--

They recently announced another Untold-style remake of the second game, which at this point is the only one in the series I haven't played. It's called Knight of Fafnir.

When I started back up again I had to finish the second half of the first Untold game's story mode, and then I went back and played through III.

We'll see. I'm trying to save up, which might mean I grab one of those for Christmas. But I've just started Steven Erikson's series again (never managed to finish it) and there are plenty of books.

I'm not even sure when they're coming out, actually. I know that Australia is the only english region that's going to get them in 2014, but that seems to indicate that they'll be out everywhere else pretty early in 2015.

I'm a bit miffed because I upgraded to a new XL less than a year ago.

Australia's getting them first? About time.

I think that was pretty much Nintendo's stated reasoning.

Good for the Aussies! xD Really, it's only fair. I think I remember seeing that they've switched other release dates so Europe gets some stuff first, too. Maybe the new Smash game...? Have you tried that? I think it's gotten good reviews.

Oh, and I feel obliged to say 'Bill' in a post just 'cuz. xP

                  I have it. It's....

I mean it's fun, but I just find it so frustrating to actually play. The 3DS was not built for this.

And also I just really miss Subspace Emissary.

I loved that story mode! Everyone hates Brawl, but I like it. It's just fun. I enjoy items and final smashes. I'm just really not a competitive/tourney player (not anywhere near good enough) so I enjoy the game as spectacle.

I'm more or less the same. I usually main Lucario, but my favorite character in 4 is actually the Mii Gunner. Which surprised me, but ehh.

Lucario's tricky, but fun to play. I used to play Luigi and Fox mostly. I haven't played any Smash in years now, though.

I've been doing alright for the most part, a few new pics here and there, been getting a few commissions lately, fiddling a bit with RPG Maker as well, but otherwise not too much out of the ordinary. Also gonna try and upload a whole bunch of new stuff onto here, since i've once again fallen a bit behind on updating my own Weasyl. XD

Glad to hear you're doing well too! Can't say i've heard of those two games before though, i'm assuming by those names they're RPG/MMO types?

Etrian Odyssey is a throwback to classic CRPGs like the Wizardry series, but as a more recent point of reference I usually describe them as turn-based anime Dark Souls.

Basically each game tasks you with making a party and exploring 5 strata of some kind of labyrinth. You have to manually make your own map, combat is really unforgiving, the story is mostly a bunch of events you encounter in the labyrinths told in second person. It's pretty old school. But it also has what I think are some of the most interesting party/battle mechanics of any modern RPG series.

Legend of Grimrock is basically the same thing but less anime. The first game was awesome and the second game is just more of that, but even better.
