Is it because fa is still down? ;P
oh you sillies <3
But this is good, I'd love for a site with some damn organization to pick up!
Sadly fa is where I get 85% of my customers from :T
I'm a vore artist, and right now the guidelines are really vague, so recently a lot of my submissions were changed from 'general' to 'moderate'. Even so, the reason they were changed was because they are being perceived as violent/implying death - something that I honestly don't think is true unless actual gore or digestion is involved. They said it was because the prey had a scared expression; but just because they're scared or worried doesn't mean they're being physically harmed. This is kind of universal knowledge to vore artists and fans.
Right now I don't know where to put the majority of my artwork... and, well, even though the expression was the reason they gave, some submissions were flagged and some weren't, when the prey in both examples had a scared expression, and that just bothers me.
It's uncomfortable having pieces that I view as fun and non-violent, or mildly violent at most (which is acceptable in general), being marked as having such malicious intent. Especially when, you know, there's no blood or anything, but blood would be allowed in the general rating.
I don't mind that at all, because honestly I don't want to see fetish art when browsing. I would've flagged it for the fetish not the expressions.
Okay, but imagine someone viewed your fursuits as fetish material. You don't view them as sexual, but someone else does, and decides that they should be flagged because of it. That's basically what you're saying. Vore isn't really sexual unless you take it that way.
Plus if a website was going to start flagging all fetish stuff, they're going to have to flag fat furs, inflation, feet, macro/micro, collars and leashes, harnesses, plushie furs, baby furs, etc etc. Those are all fetishes, but that does not mean they are sexual.
Very true just about everything could be tagged a fetish xD.
It's probably differing opinions between mods which was always a problem on fa too. If you're worried about some of your submissions getting flagged and the rest not, then send them a message and get it figured out so you can label them accordingly and/or get things fixed.
Yeah, I did reply because of it, had a sort of long-winded few replies back and forth, and thankfully the mod said that apparently they're working on rewording and clarifying guidelines and discussing the matter with other mods. Which is good, but I just can't help but think the guidelines will still be kind of vague and difficult to determine, especially when they said to me "well one expression is more extreme than the others" and honestly I thought they were all the same level of fear.
Everyone feels it like that. Weasyl needs more attention, but most artists get more commissions on FA.
As said before, i wish i could say here but there just isn't anyone here. Also being a fursuit maker i have no choice but stay on FA even if i don't really like it there. :(
I personally prefer Weasyl over FA. I shut down my FA account before I even heard about this place, but I really do like it~ c:
Hopefully things will start picking up over here. :c
I registered way back when, I used FA alot. However can FA favorite JOURNALS!? Nope.
+1 for Weasyl.
ZING.
I have no clue if I'm going to continue using Weasyl once FA comes back up. I'll do that file transfer thingy, then we'll see what happens.

Literally only using it because FA is down. And honestly not even really using it, and considering leaving it because of recent issues with their guidelines.
