I was really hoping it was nothing but a rumor and they would never even do such a thing. But alas, the news came in this morning and got all the buzz. Ghostbusters is getting a reboot and they just hired the writer of Bridesmaids to do the script as it'll be an all female cast.

Why? Why are they doing this? Ghostbusters doesn't need a reboot. It never needed a reboot. The fans have been begging for a sequel. A Ghostbusters 3. Not a reboot. Why is Hollywood making movies that NOBODY ever asked for?! Ugh.

Not that I'm against an all female cast. I'm all for all female cast in movies. But, not Ghostbusters. I mean, has anybody thought what would it be if Ghostbusters was all female instead of all male? I never met anyone that ever asked that.

The fans, myself included, have asked for a Ghostbusters 3 with a brand new cast. Except the plot would be the old guard training the next generation. Sure it sounds like the cartoon Extreme Ghostbusters, but that's much better than to rewrite the original movie and put women in it instead of men.

What's next? Beetlejuice getting a reboot and it'll be a female Beetlejuice?
