. seems a lot more aware now of what is happening around her. She started complaining about the tube in her mouth. We started being able to communicate with her (one sided with her trying to mouth what she wanted to speak).

She started exercising her lungs, putting the ventilator (which is basically doing all the breathing) into CPAP mode (where she does most of the breathing). They were expecting her to do maybe 10 minutes. She did 110 minutes. Yeah!!

A sub for the surgeon said her belly looked soft (a good thing) and the scar is healing well. shook her head no when he asked if there was any belly pain.

They are giving her Lasic [sic] to decrease retention of fluids. Her lungs and abdomen are "watery", which they need to eliminate.
