My Furry Migration experience by RentonTBuck

I cannot begin to tell you all how much I had a great time attending Furry Migration the other day. ^^ Not only was it the first furry con I've been to, it was also the first convention of any kind that I've ever been to, and it was a good learning experience to see how a convention functioned. :)

The day started off with me meeting up with Jacek, her mother, and her two friends Twinge and Zodiac in Jacek's hotel room around lunchtime; all such nice people. ^^ Jacek was kind enough to let me use her room to change into my fursuit and keep my belongings in while I attended the con.

The first thing I wanted to do at the con was the fursuit parade and group photo shoot, so I got into suit for that. It was interesting to see some old faces and meet some new ones in the waiting area. It felt like such an honor to participate in the first parade of the very first furry con in Minnesota. :)

Afterward, I returned to the room to change into my regular clothes so I could browse through the Artist's Alley and Dealer's Den. There was such an interesting selection in both of them, including My Little Pony merchandise, furry comic books (including the erotic ones), jewelry, T-shirts and stuffed toys (such as Sheen and Fatigue toys (from "Bedfellows") that talk when you squeeze them). I bought a lanyard and button to go with my badge, a T-shirt, plus a copy of an erotic comic book called "The Thief's Desire" written by Kaylii (it's worth every penny, trust me ;)). I also bought a commissioned flat-color badge from Acid-Rain-Cloud and hope to get it from her in the mail very soon.

After I returned to the room to put away the stuff I bought, Jacek and her friends wanted to go across the street to the Mall of America to go eat sushi, and I gladly accepted the offer to come along. Before we would head downstairs to get on the shuttle bus, there was a dunk tank event going on outside and I watched it all from the hotel window (it was funny to see some of the furs try to dunk the con staff into the tank, a few of them actually being quite successful at it). We then got on the shuttle bus over to the mall and ate at Tiger Sushi before we would head back to the hotel.

The photographer who ran the individual photo sessions was out to dinner and wouldn't be back until 7 PM, so while I waited for him to return, Zodiac was nice enough to do a free sketch of my character. ^^

Then I got into my fursuit again to do the individual photo session and had a fun time with this one, doing various poses while the photographer did his work. He even asked me to pretend to look like I'm charging at the camera and pretend as though I were about to be hit by a car. lol

Once that was over, I returned to the room to change into a partial version of my fursuit and go with Twinge in hopes that I could go watch the Fursuit Dancing Competition and do Furries Against Humanity with her, but by the time I got to the dancing competition, it was already over. Twinge had wanted to do the photo session on her own, and knowing that Furries Against Humanities would last until a little past midnight, I later realized that I had to be at work early the next morning, so I skipped out on that and went home.

It was quite a blast attending Furry Migration; it was an experience I would never forget. I may try going again next year when the opportunity comes along. :)
