A bit of background first. Earlier this year, I had considered condensing "Basecraft Cirrostratus" and "Escape from St. Arned" into a single work called "The Ballad of Lucky Kaya." This book was intended to be published without the sex scenes that were included in the original drafts since I was honestly feeling burned out on writing that sort of material.

For the first half of "Lucky Kaya," re-worked the text of "Cirrostratus" slightly, smoothing over the dialogue a bit, fixing the wayward, rapidly-shifting POV, and adding small tweaks here and there. I also omitted the prologue entirely. The bulk of the story, however, is pretty much the same.

However, Teiran made it clear that he'd rather keep "Cirrostratus" as a separate work, and that he wanted the sex scenes included in "St. Arned." He said it didn't make sense to release the same book twice under two different titles, which makes sense.

I had shelved my re-worked version of "Cirrostratus" that had formed the first half of "Lucky Kaya" until Monday, when Teiran asked me if I wanted to change the byline on the new copies of "Cirrostratus." My answer was a resounding "Yes." When I asked if we could do a re-worked version of the text, he said we could.

I took the slightly reworked "Cirrostratus" text I already had for the first half of "Lucky Kaya," then made the following changes:

1. I created an entirely new prologue.
2. I added the sex scenes back in, then completely rewrote them to fix the wayward POV and to give them more substance and depth.

The result of all this work means that "Escape from St. Arned" will be joined by a slightly-improved version of "Basecraft Cirrostratus."

At this time, I do not have an ETA for the re-worked "Cirrostratus" text, though "St. Arned" will be available at RainFurrest and I imagine if I get the text to Teiran in time, it is possible that the second edition of "Basecraft Cirrostratus" will be available.

The new edition will be easy to spot; it will have the name "Rose LaCroix" on the cover whereas the first edition had "Justin Lamar" on the cover.

I don't know if Furplanet still has any first editions or not. If you have one that says "Justin Lamar" on the cover, take care of it because after this year there won't be any more of them.
