Yesterday I went to go have my sleep medication refilled during a doctor's appointment. When I get to my pharmacy though, I discover that, for some reason, Medicaid is not covering the medicine all of a sudden. Odd when you consider they've been covering it for me for months. Well, since I didn't have $900 to pay for it out of pocket, obviously I left without it. I got home and tried to call Medicaid but couldn't get hold of anyone, so I had to go to bed without the meds; a task which, as I figured, meant I did not sleep well last night.
I then wake up to talk to Henry to see if he got hold of anyone, and discovered that the company that makes my sleeping medicine is no longer participating in the Medicaid program, which means I can never get those meds again. Right now, I have a call in to my doctor to try and get me some other sleep meds.
Side note: The meds I was on before, were for the generic version of Seroquel, called Quetiapine Fumarate. I'm bringing this up, because both the normal medication name and the generic version name make me laugh. Seroquel, almost looks like you could call it SeroQUILL. And the generic? Quetiapine Fumarate, well, when I first looked at it, I had almost sworn it read 'Quiet a pine' Fumarate.... Another porcupine related joke, and an accurate one because thats exactly what the medicine did, in that it made it so I could stay asleep.
So anyway, I am now permanently off the meds, and I'm really not happy.
Sorry for the mini-rant. Needed to get it out.

Gee, that does suck. Have you tried camomille tea in the meantime? I hear that's a decent way to relax without meds.
