Quadrangle Games @ Orlando Nerd Fest 2014 Recap by sanctumpolis

Hello Dreamwalkers,

This is Jaden, VP and Marketing Advertising Director for Quadrangle Games, Inc. and I thought I'd personally send you all a message and fill you in on some of the activities we've done recently. It's been a little over a week since we came back from our latest convention, Orlando Nerd Fest. We've made a lot of great new friends and got the privilege to meet some fans as well as make many new ones. So we figure we'll tell you a bit about our time there.

Seeing as it was a music festival, we got a chance to meet so many talented folks like Chris Chirico of Geeks and Guitars. He does some amazing game covers such as Coming Home from Suikoden and a bad ass medley of Cerulian Skies, Melancholy Mines, a combination of songs from Chrono Cross and Donkey Kong Country, trust me it works. We also listened to The Returners - VGM dish out some amazing tunes by throwing back Saturday Morning Cartoon themes, Dr. Robotniks Revenge medley, and end their set with an amazing performance of Phantom of the Opera. Also got a chance to meet Lauren the Flute, head from the band who is also a fellow Suikoden fan, which btw, there were a lot of and that made me pretty happy heh heh. Expect to see some Suikoden tattoo pics from fans and a very cool Riou Genkakku from Suikoden II cosplay, The Suikoden Revival Movement would be proud. There CD is available for pre-order so be sure to check them out and listen to some snippets here http://thereturnersvgm.bandcamp.com/. Also bumped into our friends, Random Encounter as they rocked the show as always with their renditions of Songs of Storms and other classic game hits. They swung by our booth and hung out for a bit, so we'll be seeing more of that soon. Which reminds me, Careless Gorodetsky, from the band mentioned us during one of his blogs as he went into details on his misadventures during SuperCon, which was our first convention ever as well as his experience with Orlando Nerd Fest. Be sure to check that out when you get a chance as it is very entertaining. http://carelessgamer.blogspot.com/

Later during the week we got a chance to check out Johnny Yong Bosch and his band Eyeshine which was amazing btw. Followed by Critical Hit, which starred Taylor Davis of Youtube fame on Violins. But nothing could have prepared us for Nobuo Uematsu [Official: Dog Ear Records] and the Earthbound Papas. They rocked out some Final Fantasy goodness and man, words cannot begin to describe when you get a chance to listen to Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy VI live. It was definitely amazing, and meeting the band afterwards definitely had me reliving my childhood, it was definitely the highlight of the evening and possibly the event. After all, this is the music I grew up with as a child while I played my first couple of RPG games, (Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, and Super Mario RPG) All of the shows were introduced by the lead composer of the God of War series, Gerard Marino, and trust me, he's one of the coolest guys you'll ever get the chance to meet. Pretty lay back and funny as all hell. Don't let the intimidating looks fool ya lol.

We started to do some raffles for signed posters from myself and Gabriel, CEO and President of Quadrangle Games, Inc. We had winners left and right and even had a winner luck out and win twice, nice going LJ Wright aka Manic Elite . We had some pretty cool neighbors too, we had Black Stone Creations doing some amazing decals and stickers. (What do you all think of maybe potentially having some House Decals for your car eh?), and had other gaming companies as well like Heroic Stand with their game, Temple Tap which is quite addicting and you should check out. And lastly we had Cosplay Shinkou Florida Team across our booth, a local Florida charity group who helps conventions, charities, and events raise funds for their projects alongside LyAnne Peacock of J.L.Peacock Studios taking professional pictures of the event. Speaking of which, you can see some other shots of the event by her at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.756822934363931.1073741844.751210028258555&type=1

Gabriel, our CEO and President of Quadrangle Games, Inc. was also interviewed by Grant Garrison of True Geek Radio, so once we get the updates for that, we'll post the interview here soon. It's been one hell of a ride but it all comes down to this. We had a great turn out and had a ton of positive feedback and new fans during our time there. We will be posting pictures of the events soon. Now that there are no more conventions for us to go to (for now at least), we will be sending emails to those who put their name on the mailing list for more updates real soon so be sure to keep an eye out for that on your email, or if you use Gmail, be sure to check your Promotions folder. That said, thank you again for all your love and patience on this project. In a few weeks, we will be revealing our Kickstarter, and I am confident more than ever that we will get a chance to make this dream come to life. Together we can make the best Indie RPG game possible.

For those who don't have facebook, you can still click the following link and be able to see the pictures we took from both Orlando Nerd Fest and SuperCon. So be sure to check them out and let us know what you think?
