I've been looking into the filter bubble phenomena again recently, one of my friends asked why the National Guard haven't been mobilized as the Police are shooting unarmed protesters: per this source http://jezebel.com/ferguson-disgrace-police-fire-on-unarmed-crowds-attac-1621352164 Different people are getting different perspectives, with the more far-right sources describing the protesters as armed rioters that are shooting down helicopters: http://www.donotlink.com/b5ra (link the the Daily Caller)

Reporters without Borders give a general summary of Press in the US: http://rsf.org/index2014/en-americas.php
    BBC's take on it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-28781440
(BBC isn't entirely trustyworthy as they've been subject to research for bias, and are blamed for letting Faragemania take over their coverage.)

ALSO HONEYPOT DETECTED: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/to-fight-anonymous-opferguson-this-guy-is-harvesting-ip-addresses-for-the-cops This is worse than AnonOS (Which was a fake Operating System made by teh FBIz that loaded it with Spyware.)

I saw the honeypot thing, that's some shit. Dude even taunted Anonymous before Anon took his site down. I'm blown away by how brazen it is to admit that you're fishing for information while doing it. Who the fuck thinks that's a good idea?

I'm still posting all kinds of things to my blog on tumblr, trying to keep track. I'll likely update this or make more journals tonight, because I'm sure the protests aren't going away.

Did you see the pictures of the police tear gassing Al-Jazeera reporters and then dismantling their cameras after they run?

I've seen the police do that in the UK with my own eyes. So that's something the police does. I'm not sure where I should post this bit of advice, but with any major news story breaking out it's not a good time to immediately try new tools and software as more often than not shit like this happens. Newbs sign up, download, or use things that are faulty or have malware and end up starting to sink Ops because the Police are able to go on info gleaned and arrest people and don't look like their entirely incompetent. No one wins in this scenario.

Oh, I know, I never fuck with signing up for anything new and shiny connected to social justice/uprising/revolts. Nasty business. I'm just flabberghasted that they consider themselves so tech savvy as to announce their plans while they're doing it. It's... hubris. Pure hubris.
