I was hoping it wasn't true, but after looking up on Google at several news sites. It turns out it is.

Robin Williams died today at the age of 63 due to battling severe depression and attempted suicide.

I'm literally crying right now. He was my idol. To be a somebody. I loved his comedy and his acting abilities. Hollywood has truly lost a great guy today.

First Harold Ramis, then Bob Hoskins, and now Robin Williams. Another person who our generation has owed a debt of gratitude.

From his days playing an alien in a sitcom back in the 1970s (Mork & Mindy) to his great acting career on the big screen. From playing a radio jockey in Good Morning Vietnam to playing Popeye himself, to playing Peter Pan in Hook, and starred in several movies like The Birdcage, Jumanji, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, and Mrs. Doubtfire. Also, played Teddy Roosevelt in the Night at the Museum movies

But, I think the one we all remember him the most from is when he played the Genie in Disney's Aladdin. He was the most memorable Disney character of all time and Robin Williams helped bring him to life which is one of the reasons why Aladdin is considered one of the greatest Disney movies of all time.

And he actually started a great comeback when he went back to television in a new sitcom, The Crazy Ones.

I had no idea he was suffering severe depression the entire time and I guess it was just too much for him. This is such a sad day for everybody who is a fan of him. I've been a fan of his since I was very young.

From his voice work at Genie in Aladdin, to playing Peter Pan in Hook, to surviving the most dangerous game on the planet in Jumanji, and playing Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the Museum. And being in a music video of Don't Worry Be Happy. I even remember him as a guest star in the first airing of Whose Line Is It Anyway? and I still have his Broadway stand up on DVD.

Robin. Thank you for all the memories you had given us. Thank you for making us laugh. Thank you for entertaining us and where ever you are, I hope you'll continue to be who you are when we see you again. salutes Here's to you, Genie
