Update (May art continue to thrive) by GuzzleMuzzle

Sorry for the lack of updates. I haven't been online much lately. We've had internet this whole time, but I've just been..."falling away" from it all, so to speak. A little depressed, but without good reason ( anyone could easily obtain most of the games I have on my computer, but I have a little under 50 of the most recent games of the past 6 years, and several PS2 games from across that system's era. Beyond games, I don't exactly live one of the most harsh of lives...).

I was in the hospital for a whole week over 3 weeks ago, for entirely stupid reasons. I wasn't injured. I was suicidal. Being there was a religious clusterfuck where my father made a ridiculous fuss over ( prepare to lose some brain cells... ) my "evil" video games. Only the "evil" ones ( Don't look for logic. There isn't any. ). That's over now, but I still occasionally deal with nonsense from my father concerning how I give games and my files and such more attention than I do the Christian god. Lol...

It can be said that the period between the year 2007 and 2013 was a seriously heavy time for art, in various forms of media. I only say this with the knowledge of what I had seen of gaming, music, and visual artistry in various places. Of course not everyone was in broad agreement with what had gone on during this period, but one thing that I noticed had gone on - and hopefully is still is going on for the most part - was how the various things that have been around in the past 3 decades seemed to bring us all together, gaming being a huge factor here, but hardly the only factor.

I've been worried about the art world. Worried because I am hoping that some of the various things that we as artful people are inclined to are still widely loved. It's been an ongoing psychological issue that I've been dealing with for several months now, but another part of it has been fear - a fear of what it may have been that I've "subscribed to" where my, quote, "artful" interests are concerned. I don't know if it's that I feel I'm outgrowing some of my interests, or that I'm simply terrified - genuinely frightened - of some of them. I've talked to my mate and another friend about this recently, and they both think it's a little silly. I chalk the feeling up to having lived in a not-so-very-exciting or eventful living situation for the past 5 months. Occasional yard work has pretty much been the main thing going on around here. Everyone seems so bored, and never mind the occasionally rampant, staunch Christianity. Ohio. Lol...

I'm alive. I still have diabetes type 2 (which isn't as bad as type 1). I haven't been unable to post journals. Just disinterested in doing it for a long while. I've mainly kept myself busy playing the PSP games "Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy" and "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" on my 19" HDTV via a component AV cable, and Skyrim on my laptop PC. Since I have a good hard drive now, I've been trying to get back into PC gaming, but nothing so very much more "high end" than Skyrim on the lowest graphics settings since this is a 2010 machine. I don't think the motherboard is replaceable on laptops. I know that, for this one, the processors aren't, so a better laptop is in order, whenever I can afford one.

Speaking of PC games, have a look at hundreds of old, free indie games from around the year 2010 (I'm not familiar with them, but I'm most recently downloading some of them from this webpage! http://www.pixelprospector.com/indie-games/ ):
