Major Life Metamorphisis by Taesolieroy

A few of you were aware of when I was traveling to midcoast Maine, and a slightly larger number has heard about the medical emergency that had arisen and threatened my life.

What was supposed to be a one week visit with family morphed into a two week dental emergency with an on-the-fly cleaning with an awesome family of dentists that really care for the patient over problem. From there the would-be two week recovery period turned into a permanent stay as of last Sunday/Monday. The dentists had looked at my x-rays and dental photos and realized that the reason I lost that one wisdom tooth the way I did was only the tip of the iceberg of brewing trouble beneath the gums. Due to a combination of bad dietary choices and stress I had a problem known as advanced decay with cavities in almost all of my teeth along the gum line, and would have lost my teeth one by one with degrading health within a year and a half if not stopped right away.

With the help of my parents here in Maine I have completely disposed of all refined sugars (white, brown, corn syrups, etc) and most processed foods (I still love my milk man...) and have remained cold turkey for the last ten days quite splendidly. We are following rather close to the Mediterranean diet pattern, which allows only natural sugars in fruits (succulent/dried), unprocessed raw honey, and molasses (small amounts) among other things. We are also going fully organic as possible with rolled oats only (or whole oats to roll/grind by hand), locally grown produce that are MOFGA approved, and the proportions of our meals (mostly vegetables, with the smallest percentage being meat-based protein). There are many other things about the Mediterranean diet that I could talk about, but that would take the fun out of researching it for the curious!

I have also implemented the use of a specific paste in my brushing routine to apply post-brush/floss that helps re-calcify lost enamel and stop the cavities. I am happy to announce that when my habits were described to the dentists ( I had another appointment at the time), they said I have pretty much stopped the decay process. I believe it because I can already see a change in the smaller cavities towards the front of my mouth!

A lot of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing has been happening within this house over the last week starting with myself and my northern mom, and just last night we worked together to help my dad in his healing process. A quote from the mentor of my stepmom's Osteopath in regards to healing -

"It takes no time to heal" - It may take some time adjusting as sometimes the adaptation is faster than one can handle. I still feel like I'm sitting on a gently rocking boat even though I know I'm standing still in the house.

My brother wants to be a part of it too! Looking forward to disc golfing and bowling with him again ^_^

Right now though almost all of my gear is still down in Georgia, as well as my pets.. :C We are working on ideas and solutions to bring both belonging and fuzzy family safely to Maine in a manner that would benefit both sides of the family involved in the process.
For some of my commissioners it is a delay in being able to complete them due to being traditional pieces. For my digital commissioners - I do have my tablet on hand, but my stylus managed to sneak out of my backpack and return to its place on my desk down south :/ I am going to borrow my stepmom's tablet and hopefully either tonight or when the flurry mash of typhoon/tornado/flood/quagmire of energy settles to a degree that I can still have the energy to crawl onto the computer and work.

As I no longer have a job with the sudden transplant, I will probably do several adoptables to help fund not only getting my pets up here, but to help cover any smaller costs to keep what I have in bank as untouched as possible for major necessities.

I really really miss the friends I have made down in Georgia, and wish I have had the chance to meet others of the group. :C
