comic advice? by wendigoflesh

I'm working on a thing and so I'm going to ask for some advice.
Mostly on where to host a webcomic? I considered putting the pages on here as well as a site (no idea of what site though-) or perhaps just uploading previews onto here or tumblr.
Also any advice on the making/planning/scripting would be useful.

https://wordpress.org/ - I'm a Wordpress evangelist. It's free, open source and if you're self-hosting you can customize it anyway you want.
https://tumblr.com/ - has the benefit of an already established userbase and can set tags to attract people's attention.

I think it's best to upload comic pages onto one site, and on another. Should one site fail, go down or has technical issues the other can work as a back-up. Ideally, you'd want off-line storage as well.

For Comic Pre-development; It's a massive project that isn't going to be done in a day so I've found keeping timelines and various logs useful that give an outline. Most of which will be dependent on what story it is you want to tell. I write my ideas down on pieces of square paper and write them down and then rearrange them to see if it tells a coherent story. (Useful if it's multiple storylines as this helps with pacing.) Here's more info on how I've organized a comic project: https://www.weasyl.com/journal/58074/aberdork-it-s-progress-jim-but-not-as-we-know-it

I'd also suggest having folder tree that' easy to follow. I've got [Aberdork Script] which breaks down into three folders [Character Notes],[Outlines] & [Website Assets] I'll be making more to help organize; if I get ideas on how to market or advertise the comic I'll make a folder for [Marketing] which may include making wallpapers or images that look promotional. It'll help keep things tidy having a system and you can easily find your notes if they're altogether and not squirreled away around your computer.

Ah, thank you so much! Very helpful things that I've not considered.
I've been linked to comicfury to host things but yeah, I think going with multiple sites and perhaps one main one that gets a few pages ahead - and then uploading previews on tumblr/da/fa/weasyl/ect - would be a good thing to consider.
Thanks for all the links as well! I just gotta get myself organised haah.

Just from years of reading webcomics, most ones I've read that were initially hosted onto Drunkduck, Comicfury and other sites for webcomics; the Artists decided to self-host later for a variety of reasons that I can only dimly remember. I think this late into how it's played it, it's less of a necessary step as barriers to hosting have came down.

Also I need to get writing just now. c_c

Yeah, i've gone for comicfury just because that's the one I've got the most recommendations for ahaa.
            Gently encourages the writing.
