They've caused trouble on other sites to the point of users being banned. Even on "that" site. Unlike "that" site, this one makes it easy to "ignore" such people, like the one that just attempted to follow me using such a script.
If you follow me using an auto-script, you'll be ignored. 'nuf said.
I view it as they're wasting bandwidth, as negligible as it may be at this time. People will click back to see who the follower is out of curiosity, which then raises the views count for the auto-account, which is why these things are getting banned elsewhere. Thanks for the heads-up that they're on your radar.

We've got our eye on these types of accounts. Their impact is negligible at best, but it's something we'll examine as we grow and attract more of these sorts of users.
