Patreon + General Update by Malachyte

Yes, the time has come. I've finally left my job in food service and taken on a better part-time one. I get to wear regular clothes and be in an office, and I am elated. Most importantly, there is no possibility of getting handed more hours and taking away from my drawing time; their system simply doesn't work that way.

This means art is really important to me making a living, and so, I have finally set up a Patreon page. If you're confused about what that is, here is a simple explanation: It's like a tip jar that, in my case, you tip once a month, to say thanks and to help me stay afloat when commissions are scarce or I need new equipment. You can tip any amount, and stop anytime. If you tip certain amounts, you will get certain perks for doing so. For more info, go to my page and give it a look!

To make sure I'm clear on one point, I would like everyone to understand that this does not mean I'm discontinuing uploading new art, or that I'm stopping commissions or making streams exclusive-only. Yes, there will be certain content that is only for patrons, but the majority of my work will remain in my galleries. Things like WIPs, drawing exercises and scraps will be hosted on that site, from now on, as these are time consuming to upload across the board.

If anyone has questions or suggestions about my Patreon, please speak up! I'm very new to the site, so I expect it to be a bit clunky for me at first as I get used to it, but I hope you'll bear with me.

I'm going to spend the rest of my evening catching up on submissions, comments, notes, etc., and will be posting a journal soon about opening commissions again. I'm going to do it a bit differently than before, and I hope it works out alright. It should provide a little more structure to the process, and help me meet deadlines better (something I've always been a bit poor at).

All that aside, things have been going well for me. It got a bit crazy when I was working 3 jobs there, but that's settled down, thank goodness. I'm able to work my stick-shift care alright these days (my very first car, at age 26, ha ha), and that's been a load off my mind. The thing was like a death trap before! I named him/her/it Lucifer, after the version of Lucifer from Supernatural, because of reasons. I also, I just bought a shit load of Copic markers, so my color library is getting pretty expansive now. Expect to see an influx of traditional art soon. Aaaand there's a huge thunder boom. Guess I better finish this journal quick!
