Drawing hand broken after motorbike crash by not_all_there

[typing with one hand is hard] Got back from hospital today, last night during the wind and rain, I was riding to my parents house, doing 40mph on my motorbike, when a huge tree fell in front of me, I rode straight through it, smashing up the front of my bike and breaking my right (drawing) hand in several places. Despite this I managed to ride the bike a further 200yrds before rolling to a stop and parking it. Spent the night in hospital, my right arm is now in a cast and sling…basically, it may be a while before I can draw again…

Damn, that's an experience for visiting your parents.
Overall how was the treatment at the hospital? When i cut my arm open on glass i had to wait 4 hours just to get stitched up, and i was still bleeding all over the place.

Though grand as it is your fine in sense of not dying, busting your art hand seems like and all time low. Here's to a quick recovery!

I was waiting a couple of hours before I got x-rayed, and a couple more hours before the doctor finally saw me.

Gosh, man, I'm so sorry. It's like bad things keep happening and happening sometimes. :C But I'm glad you're alive, road accidents can get really bad!

Try to take it easy, alright? If it gets frustrating look at it as a time to draw with your non-drawing hand, maybe try new media or writing. But really, just give yourself time to recover and don't be too hard on yourself when you start getting back into drawing - yeah, it will get worse at first but it's possible to get it to be even better later, I've been there and done that (not with a broken arm but still medical stuff preventing drawing).

Ahhhhhhh shit!!! Good luck and recover soon :( Good to hear that you're doing (mostly) okay... Sounds scary!
