Not me, my friend Streulicht.

In short, someone hacked into her paypal account, stole $700 (which was going to be used for rent and bills) and then deleted their own accounts. Paypal says there's nothing they can do.
If you could send her some dough it'd really help her out, or at least give a signal boost. She's in dire straits.
Agreed. How ever, I suggest reading through PayPal's fraud section, so you can toss it in their faces, and make them do something about it. If you wait too long, they'll do nothing. How ever, they may still say no. In this event, gather all of the evidence that you can, find someone higher up than the service rep, and talk to them directly. By phone if possible.
it sounds REALLY fishy to me. One does not simply "delete" a paypal account. Or even steal money from it. you can always do a paypal dispute. Not only that, but I do believe you have to provide multiple forms of ID to delete your account. I'm sorry, but it sounds really really fishy. Especially since your friend is still taking commissions and using paypal.

Paypal has fraud protection. They're supposed to return stolen money.
