Funny thing about Grigori in Dragon's Dogma by GuzzleMuzzle

All logic considered, he doesn't even seem to fit the mold of a true villain. A "badguy", most definitely, but in no way a "villain". He's more of an ominous "gateway" towards your true purpose in life than a vicious "thug" or "sadist" bent on making you suffer. Hell, he's barely even a "badguy". More like a "bully", yet for profoundly significant, substantial reasons.

I don't wanna fight him. At all. Nope. Even though, in the core story details, he's a creepy dragon that spends his existence travelling around the world and swallowing the LITERAL hearts of anyone he even remotely "likes" (o_o...............), he's a sexy stud that needs mass-coordinated belly rubs on a continual basis, among other venues of lifelong worship~

He also needs eternal paw scrubbibgs, because hygiene.....

    IT MAKES SENSE!
At least more sense then who he chooses to become the next arisen.

I think there's more to the story than just his role as a "challenger of random people" for a quest. There's more going on behind his desire to fight the arisens (there's more than one Arisen. Other players are the other arisens! But you never see them in your game. You only borrow their "permenant partner" pawns to have as up to 2 of your support pawns. x3).

There's a guy called the "Seneschal", and you have to fight him too. He plays a role in the "endless chain" (endless "cycle", I think) that the dragon is locked in.

Since I don't fully grasp the story, it's hard to say if whether the dragon is trying to be the friend of the arisens and train them up to break the "curse" (if that's the case) of his "cycle", or that on one proper pathology he's actually a cruel entity that genuinely wants to harm people. I think he's just a big, strong dragon who's forced to be mean to people because of the conditions in his life. :( Or some other victim of things beyond his control.

In any case, he is still a stud dragon with delicious paws... o.o <333
