They Want To Kill All the Yummiest Feesh! by D'Otter

A mining company called Rio Tinto, (through their subsidiary, Northern Dynasty Minerals), want to open a huge, open-pit gold, copper and molybdenum mine; the Pebble Mine. The problem is that this mine will disrupt the whole Bristol Bay watershed; at least nine rivers, including the Cinder, Egegik, Meshik, Nushagak and Naknek, all major feesh rivers. Almost half the sockeye salmon caught each year come from these rivers! (And other salmon species spawn there, too.) Rio Tinto claim it's a matter of new jobs; it's really a matter of new jobs versus old jobs, mining versus fishing. The fishing jobs are sustainable! (That is, if they're not destroyed by mine tailings.)

Please, if you believe in feesh, go to this website and register your protest! -- http://action.sumofus.org/a/rio-tinto-sockeye-salmon-biggest-mine-pebble-mine-northern-dynasty-bristol-bay/2/2/?sub=homepage

Please, think of the otters!
...and bears, eagles, cougars, wolves, they all love salmon, too... and humans...
