Just a warning that this isn't a very happy journal

So I promised you guys an update and it's been well over a week but yea..
This is probably the best time to do it since it's the longest time between crying I've managed, and I think some people may have been getting impatient with me as I haven't been working.

As some of you guys may know, I got a puppy just over a week ago and I said that I would take about a week off to let him settle with my other dog.
What I didn't account for was well, everything that has happened in the past week..

I took both dogs to the vets for a check up, (as every owner will do) and it was there it was discovered that Charlie has a serious heart murmur (a stage 4/5), from there my vet booked him in with a specialist cardiologist over at Liverpool university so that the problem could be clarified. We took him to Liverpool from Yorkshire and stayed with my family while I waited the weekend til his appointment.
He was admitted on Monday and we waited 5 hours for tests to be run. Luckily his insurance covered it as it totaled to £1,500 in vet fees.
The tests reveled that he did indeed have a stage 5 murmur the cause of which was that he was born with a serious heart defect which can prove to be fatal. The valves in his heart are enlarged and don't close properly and when open they block the supply from effectively reaching his body so his heart has to work harder to supply his body with blood.
He is currently on beta blockers to slow down is heart rate in order to try and recover it a little so he doesn't get an arrhythmia. The medication will prevent his heart from going into failure and while he is on his medication he is prone to collapse or fainting.. He is only 9 weeks old.

We are completely and utterly devastated and my heart is broken.
I've spent the last three days in tears and avoiding the internet so I am very sorry if any of you have been worried or frustrated with me or the lack of work. This is the last day I'll have with him as he will be going back to live with his mother for however long he has left.

Again, I apologize as I will do anything for my animals so in this case Charlie came first and my work was neglected. I didn't want to update anything til I knew exactly what was happening and I will try and get back to work as soon as I can.

In the case of my artwork I will not be taking any more regular commissions til after Confuzzled, although Confuzzled commissions will be open until 2 weeks before the start of the con.
