Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer reveal: reactions (Michael Bay) by edelfieri

So we finally saw the trailer to the movie released today/yesterday on the Tubes of You and Google.

I am surprisingly okay with the movie so far.

Before I continue any further, allow me to clarify something: I am a huge TMNT fan. I grew up watching them on TV in the early 90's when I was a kid. I watched the 4Kids/Blizzard TMNT show from beginning to end and developed an eternal love of their interpretation of Donatello. I was a Turtles in Time addict.

And I think that the trailer looks great until now. I like how the turtles look, uncanny valley details aside. The outfits they wear look wicked kickass! I nearly lost it when I saw Leonardo decked out in that armor thing. I don't really see why fans are complaining. Some things are bound to change somehow in an adaptation. It happened with The Hobbit and it sure can damn happen with this one. I took no issue with the plot details being revealed (trivia: Eric Sachs is actually an English rewriting of sorts of Oroku Saki. If you know Japanese, you'll know what I mean). Also, even though Bay is not the director in the movie, but rather a producer, comparisons to Transformers are unavoidable- and it shows. I thought I was watching Transformers at one point. Megan Fox ruined April for me. (Not really. I just hate her). And some of the dialogue was cheesy. Otherwise, looking forward to this. It's better than the Nickelodeon cartoon. Yeah, I went there. Come at me, bro.

...Mikey's bit at the end of the trailer was legitimately funny though.

There are times I complain, and there are time I am "meh". This time, I am a bit "meh". Not as bad as the fan say, but not as good as some movies from before. Still, it does look like a nice movie to watch. Either way, I want to see it too.
