Whoopsie! Well, social stuff goes on FB maybe? by Excelsior The Lion

Reading through the Weasyl FAQs, TOS, etc. I used FurAffinity more like a Facebook sort of thing where submissions were more just "hey! look what I bought..." and such. The FAQ / TOS seems to indicate here that that sort of thing is not appropriate.

Why was I looking? At FA I was told I could not submit photos of the plushies I bought rather than created. That's ok, it's thier site, not mine!! So I was wondering about that here.

But what they were talking about reminded me that Weasyl is NOT Facebook! So my social stuff really should go there, not FA or Weasyl as far as I understand it. I'm not clear about FA policies but since there is similarity to this site, I realize my sort of mistake. However via journals here and there I will be doing socializing but my submissions should at both sites lean towards useful stuff. So my photographs won't be "hey! look what I got / found" and more the artistic photography I'm good at.

So most submissions I do on FA are just fine here too. Poses while in fursuit and such. Artistic photography (rather than just 'inventory' pics). Just sayin'.

Kind of new here, hardly any followers here and few are from FA will recognize dis ol lion!

A final note: jeez, my new nearly full size plushy of a cheetah is having a stare-down with my Excelsior (fursuit)!! lol

Thanks for your understanding; you've got it right. It comes as a surprise to some people, since they don't realize we have a few different policies from other art gallery websites. FA allowed up to 3 "whatever" submissions, last time I checked (ages ago). Policy is always subject to change, but Weasyl's a fair bit more focused on what one produces over what one has. Fursuits sort of transcends what one owns, so those are fine (though just taking a picture of a piece you bought on its own, wouldn't for instance). Artistic photography is more than welcome, too.

Also, a giant plush cheetah is my primary pillow. :)
