Hello my loyal subjects!

Some of you may already know this, but I've begun PODCASTING! (A horrible sin, I know, but...) Its tons of fun, although the editing can be kinda tedious. I hope someday to find someone that I can trust to edit for me. But in any case...

... the Podcast (... or "Downloadable Talk Show" or whatever people call it these days to not get sued by Apple,) is called "Con Cast". The idea is to have a show about furry conventions. About the furry convention culture, about the things conventions do well, about the things that might benefit from being improved, the virtues of their particular locations (hotel chains, geographic regions), and the specific Convention differences and special touches that each apply to their own event, etc.

Why? Well... Soron the Panda and I started our own furry convention organization called FurryCon(tm). And to produce the best convention we can, we need to do some research. That generally means going to other conventions, seeing what they do well and adopting it, seeing what they could have done better and avoiding those same pitfalls, as well as adding our own unique innovations. This also means soliciting feedback from other congoers. This is all a process that we need to document, so why not let people follow along as we go, and get a sense of the adventure?

So the Furrycon team was talking about this and thought... if we're going to be doing all this research and discussion, why not make it in a format where others can follow along and easily contribute? And as a medium, the Podcast is uniquely suited for this. And there really is no podcast specifically about going-to/running furry conventions (at least, I don't know of any, but I could be mistaken). So that's what we decided to do.

Anyway, the first 3 episodes are up on our Soundcloud (with new linked pages on our homepage www.furrycon.com to come in the next couple weeks). Also: Listening to our show is a good way to learn about FurryCon, some of the stuff we're planning, but also to get impressions about other furry conventions, and their particular virtues and quirks.

As-of right now Con Cast has mostly been about the stuff that we plan to do, because we haven't gone to any furry conventions in the past few weeks (since we started recording). But that is sure to change. Between Soron and myself we hit like 8+ cons a year, so plenty of material! :)

Please spread the word! No point in doing a Podcast if nobody is listening. And I hope you enjoy them.
