February fifteenth is more than just a discount candy day . . . I just realized that it’s sort of a New Year’s Day for me.

The social season begins at Halloween, ramps up with Thanksgiving and Hanukkah and Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and culminates with Valentine’s Day. After that, the pressure to find someone to celebrate with is off for another eight months.
