Anybody know about scanners and Photoshop? by eryshe

So I recently came into the possession of a Mustek Scan Express A3 USB scanner (woohoo!!) but (of course) there's something wrong. I have Photoshop CS5 and an iMac OSX 10.6.8 Every time I turn on my computer, the scanner turns off. When I unplug the USB to the computer, it turns back on.
Any suggestions??
I really really really want to use my A3 scanner. ;__;

    Does it have another power supply other than the USB?

      I can think of a few things that could do that, but they're all PC based lol. It's been a LOONG time since I messed with a mac

      The scanner does have a seperate line for power.

        Aaaahhh word. Then it isn't low power. Sometimes if you have to many USB cables it'll mess up comunication between the device and the computer like that, but it's hella rare (my laptop does do that though and its a 2011 acer lol.

        I found this: http://underdesign.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/getting-my-mustek-scanexpress-a3-tabloid-scanner-working-under-photoshop-cs4/

        Maybe forcing it to run on TWAIN will work. I perfer to import with TWAIN most times then use a default scanning program. See if that works for you O:

          It works, thank you.
          But now, when I try to trim the image it winds up making the image disappear. Now it's with EVERY image.
