I had some very frustrating days... by Maaia

First of all, thanks everyone for their comments, watches and favorites! You guys motivate me to keep on drawing. And while I don't reply to all comments cause I'm extremelly shy, I always read them all <333

Now a long story ahead:

Some weeks ago my tablet started behaving oddly. I couldn't draw smooth lines on Photoshop, and they looked wavy even on SAI (I had to use the highest stabilizers just to be able to draw something).
I tried updating the drivers, unstalling and re-instaling them, formatting my laptop and NOTHING WORKED.

So I called wacom tech support and they said it could be a problem with the tablet's circuit board, and because it was very expensive, it would be better for me to buy a new tablet..... And since I live in the land of expensive imported things I'd have to pay $700 on a new one. Yeah, right! I searched many foruns for some kind of solution but found nothing.

So I opened the tablet myself and found nothing wrong, just a bit of dust and the usb cable snapped when I tried cleaning it. I'M A GENIUS I KNOW'.
But thank god my bf's uncle is a electrical engeneer, so I asked him if he could fix it for me, and he did in 10 min. Then my bf tested my tablet on his mac and it was working wonders. Then the next day he returned the tablet to me and I plugged it on my pc and surprise surprise IT WAS STILL MAKING WAVY LINES. Oh god I swear I almost threw it out of the window !

Some days and lot's of tears ans swears later I formatted my pc AGAIN but had an idea : to install the tablet drivers before anything else. And.. it worked perfectly. But then while I was installing my graphics card driver it stopped working again. So all those issues happened because of two drivers being bitches at each other. And since I had this tablet for 3 years and had no issues before, I didn't imagine it was something so simple that could take me weeks to fix.

But now I'm back and able to draw again <3 So expect art from me in a couple of days!

tl;dr : my tablet and my graphics card hate each other.

I had some very frustrating days...

I had no idea that the graphics driver would conflict with the tablet drivers. Glad that you sort of got it sorted out for now.

Me neither, but I'm glad it wasn't a hardware issue.

I have no idea why they started hating each other after so many years lol And I'll try drawing more from now on, maybe that problem was a sign ? xD

...drivers are recommended for everyone, however you may notice symptoms such as; smooth sailing, intermittent functioning, irritability, and then out right rage. If you have any of these warning signs, please keep using your drivers and call your PC Doctor. You may have a condition known as drivers suck...

And getting them to work is the single most difficult IT related thing I have ever had to deal with..
