There comes a time when you realize that no matter how much you want to (or don't want to) feel something, some emotions just aren't things that can be willed to control. About 6 months ago, my wife and I had a discussion about separating, and we came to the conclusion it would be best for both of us. But, after finding out what my ex best friend had to say about it (who was basically the reason things fell apart in the first place), I left her some rather scathing messages and called it off.

But, spite only lasts for so long. The pendulum once again swung back to wanting to leave, so I am. This time, we're both seeing things in a much more positive manner, and taking this as an opportunity to chase our aspirations in life on an individual basis. Kat and I will remain as close friends (with benefits,) but it's best if I leave the relationship. I also have a LOT of friends over on the East Coast that I'd love to see in person more than once, and I've been feeling a pull back toward the region of my birth since the cross-country road trip to Anthrocon.

I'll be moving to a smaller town near Lima, OH, and I'll be an hour's drive from one of my best friends ever, Iceshadow! I'll be within a day's drive of several of my other friends as well, like ShadowEon and Crimes! I've had some friends question my choice of going to Ohio, because apparently Ohio sucks to many people. In looking for a new state, I examined many different factors including logistics, vehicle inspection/smog laws, and gun laws. While it's not perfect, it's one of the better options. At least the Libertarian Party of Ohio is gaining strength!

I'm definitely going to miss the state of Oregon. It's absolutely gorgeous, mild temparatures, very little humidity, and well-balanced laws. But, my Midwestern roots are calling. During the Anthrocon trip, I was flooded with childhood memories when I saw my first firefly in well over a decade. I almost forgot they even existed. I'll also be leaving behind several friends who are totally awesome, BUT, there are definitely some pretty shitty furries here in Oregon I definitely will NOT miss. It'll be nice to actually attend local furmeets again without having to deal with all of the lies and drama generated by my ex best friend. (You can go ahead and throw that party to celebrate my departure, it'll only prove how shitty of a person you really are.)

Venom aside, I'm definitely looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life. Ohio will make the fourth state I've lived in, and the third time zone. So far, Oregon has been the best state, so I may return one day. Until then, EAST COAST, HERE I COME!
