The Alternate Meme by jonas

This is another 'getting to know you' meme, but it's a little bit different.

  1. Pick an alternate species for your character. One you'd find amusing, even if others would be weirded out.

  2. Name a skill or two you're proud of that has nothing to do with your chosen career. It doesn't have to be an obviously useful skill, either.

  3. List one or more things you'd do if you had a chance to change your physical sex for a day.

  4. If you could have lived in any other era in history, when would it be and where?

  5. Can you think of an artist (or other creative type) you really like but would never imitate?

  6. What's a food you find fascinating but would never eat?

  7. Name a film, TV show, play or book that you wish had a different ending. What kind of ending would you have written?

  8. If you could have one more day as a kid and could visit someplace that's gone/changed now, where would it be?

(My own answers are in the comments. If you do this, please comment with a link to your journal as I'd like to see your answers.)

    1. Tarsier. O.O

    2. Both my thumbs can bend in funny ways. It's not useful for anything but it gets some amusing looks when I do it.

    3. I'd pretend I was a friend of 'me,' and see which of my hetero friends were attracted to me. I'd also be curious to see how noticeably differently my family would treat me. And just for laughs, I'd probably try a few things on, although very likely I'd be one of those girls who basically dresses kind of androgynously.

    4. Italy during the High Renaissance. I'd tolerate all of the sociopolitical and sanitary problems just to see some of the old maestros at work. Seriously, that'd be worth it.

    5. I actually really like Reggie Watts at the moment, although I don't think I could ever do what he does.

    6. Century eggs. Urgh.

    7. Stoker recently showed me the original movie version of Dracula, and while the ending basically closed out the story, it struck me as really abrupt. o_o

    8. The original Exploratorium. :c

Alright. You and Stoker can feast on your century eggs and casu marzu for the duration of this year. I did not need to know such things existed! XD

Well, if you'd rather not know about such things, then you definitely shouldn't google witchetty grubs, shiokara, escamoles, Rocky Mountain oysters, balut, or kopi luwak.
