I dunno that much. It came from persia long ago, and it's actually very regulated in the U.S. so that it has to meet certain ingredients and qualities to be called ice cream here.

Fantasy or Sci-fi?

To be honest I quite like modernized fantasy, or something that takes the ooooold fae stuff and puts a twist on it. Neil Gaiman's stuff is an example.
I love scifi too, hitchhiker's, stranger in a strange world. I just prefer a certain style of writing over more technical writing that's more prevalent in scifi.If i'm being really honest I prefer light parody/comedy like discworld. I read too much serious shit already.

Ah yes. I love Terry Pratchett. I always found his writing to be legitimately funny and I didn't read any comedies until I was introduced to Discworld. Neil Gaiman and Douglas Adams are also pleasantly entertaining. I see you like the British writers heheh.
Have you read any of Diana Wynne Jones' work? She was the author of Howl's moving castle and a couple other books that are related.

yeah :D I think the first I read was a weird one where there's like...fantasy tourists. They put on a ruse that one guy is a tyrant and he has a flock of gryphons he made. It's weird but delightful.

Why do alcoholic beverage recipes continue to use, I guess the most mild way of putting it would be 'unique' units of measurement? What is a jigger, a bar spoon, or a splash?

I dunno, maybe it's something to do with the pour? I know with the spouts you count the seconds.
I use fingers to measure so...

Where do you see Weasyl going in the next couple of years?

woof, that's a big one. To be honest I'm still reeling that a year ago or so all of this was just a group project yet to really be seen. I remember just sitting up late working on documents for CG, ToS, stuff like that and thinking "will people use this?"
With the way it's been growing over time (not just over this weekend) I think Weasyl will continue to grow and settle out into a new community. Hopefully we'll have a chance to bring in more artists that are comfortable showing off all kinds of art.

What got you into art?

Pretty much it was just drawing the characters and things in my head. I'd just doodle from stories and stuff. After I joined the furry fandom I just started drawing whatever and got positive feedback so I kept doing it.

As an artist, where do you feel your weak points are?

i've been thinking about it a lot, mostly because my stuff isn't quite what I want it to be. The more I think, the more I realize it's a foundations and control issue. I've never taken the time to work on foundations or actually study the craft. I have almost always been a hobbyist so...it shows.

Do you worry that if you work on that foundation/studying the craft that you'll turn the whole thing into something more akin to work as opposed to something fun to do?

Occasionally. I'm not that bothered to be quite honest because when it comes down to it I just do this for fun, so when it stop being fun i'll stop.
