New to Weasyl? Here's Some Help! by Psi
First of all, welcome! If you just created your account, or you are finally getting around to filling your old placeholder account here with stuff, you probably want to know some of the easiest ways to start. Granted, I don't have that many people following me, but if this serves to help any of you then it's all for the better!
Finding Your Favorite Artists
It's probably been a long time since you had to do this, but, thankfully, there are some easy ways about this!
(1) FA Journals
That's right! Hop over there, check out some journals, and find your favorites' new haunts, including Weasyl!
(2) Use Those Watch / Friends Links on Userpages!
Just check out anyone's front page and you will find a section for their friends and other watchers. Use that to your advantage! Click away, open those pages in new tabs so you can watch them quickly, and you can find plenty of your favorite artists with just 10 to 20 minutes of casual browsing.
(3) Simple Ottermatic Follower Transfer
Copy and paste your watch list on FA over on this lovely site and you can be set up in less than an hour!
(4) FA Exodus Database
http://fa-exodus-database.tumblr.com/ For all of those artists, old and new!
Other Lovely Little Tidbits
Are you using Chrome? Would you like a plugin that lets you transfer over most of your previous art submissions elsewhere with ease? Well then, why don't you just click right here and make your posting life about 100x easier?
Just as a note, Weasyl uses MarkDown for formatting, and that's a bit different than what you have seen over at FA. If you click right over here, you can find out all of the shortcuts and other little goodies that will make everything easier! Of course, you can also use a good amount of HTML as well to do what you want, but MarkDown is easier in some cases!

Question: By "transfer," do you mean that this plug-in moves submissions from FA to Weasyl, or just copies them over?

How do I fix the terrible thumbnail roulette that this site has? ~.~

Complain a great deal to the programmers working on update after update? Supposedly improved thumbnails are in the works for the next update, coming soon. Otherwise...yeah, I agree. I at least try and crop so there's a fair idea of the pic at times, but... >.>

Cropped thumbnails are just a bad idea in general, you know? Really, any website that doesn't put a primary focus on making what you're clicking on clear has issues.

I'd just want a "thumbnail the whole damn thing" option, for the most part, if possible. Otherwise, I don't mind submitting my own thumbnails, as per usual. Just a quick jump into a program, batch edit, done in five minutes with judicious use of C&P. ;D
