Personally, if it means anything as I only just found out your journal while browsing the "journals" category, one of the feature I like of Weasyl is actually it's filter category system. The 13+/18+/!8+(explicit) categories are both very clear and easy to use when you label your art, but also generally very well used by the userbase here.
I know sometimes when I want to look at more than my notifications I have my filtering scrolled back to 13+ just to avoid porn overload but as some of the artists I watch often produce a lot of NSFW work I often roll it back up to 18+ to see what they're actually producing since sometimes there's still the occasional nice piece amongst more artistic nudes and such.

I think you should do both really. Since we have the ability to create folders and subfolders it makes sorting it all so easy as well. Though it is all up to you and what best works for you. ^^
