So a few folks might be wondering what I'm doing here. It's not like I'm overly active on the other site that shall remain FA, so why suddenly create a Weasyl account and start uploading my stuff here?

Two reasons, actually.

First off, I think if you pigeonhole yourself into one furry art site and one only, you run the risk of limiting your exposure. While there's probably a lot of overlap between here and other sites, there are still new folks here too who've never seen or read anything I've done in the past. This is a great way, I think, to introduce myself to a lot of potentially new fans and also expand my own exposure as an author.

Secondly, I'm also hoping that this will help me in giving me the kick in the butt I need to continue and conclude my much maligned writing projects. Over the past while my life's been turned around so many times I'm not really sure what direction I'm facing. One of the victims of these many upheavals has been my writing. I want to get back to it, but every time I try, something or someone blocks me. The hope here is that by re-introducing some of my work here, I might be able to spark that spark and get back to it.

You'll notice I didn't mention anything about drama and such? As of this journal writing, I know some stuff's going down at FA but I really don't know the story and haven't really been following it. There are elements in there that are tragic yes, and I hope things are resolved properly between all parties. Do I think FA will fall as a result? I don't think so...at first. FA is a powerhouse of a furry community, which is almost a self-perpetuating mechanism these days. It would take something monumentally insane to happen to have that site shut down.

Still, it helps to not put your eggs all in one basket. With the prospect of meeting new people here, and the potential for a new audience, I'm looking forward to hanging out here and seeing what this place has to offer.
