I got a Twitter account! ...Uh, now what? by Amber-Aria

Okay, so call me silly, but I finally decided to get a Twitter account. I wanted a way to keep track of the Twitter profiles for Weasyl and a few artists I enjoy, without just bookmarking everything and going about it that way. And since I got a smartphone for Christmas, I have access to a proper Twitter app on there now. So it seemed to make sense to me!

...Buuuuut now that I have one to do so... what else is there to do with it? D: I've barely even used the website before, except to check out status updates for things, such as when Weasyl was updating during the brief DDoS downtime earlier today, and I honestly don't have a clue on what I could possibly post on my Twitter. I'm not a person to just... gab endlessly about my life. I hardly update my Facebook as is!

I guess what I'm asking is, what would you guys like to see me do with my Twitter account? What would be interesting or useful for everyone? I'd like to keep it at least SOMEWHAT related to my art and such, but what sorts of things would I use it for? Commission notifications? Stream updates? WIP photos? What do other artists do with Twitters, guys? D:

    Stream announcements, and WiP sneakpeaks are what I see the most. Otherwise it seems to just get used as an announcement system, or really slow chatroom.

      Yeah, that's pretty much what I've seen so far, and pretty much what I was considering using it for. >wo; On-the-spot announcements and WIPs that normally wouldn't get posted anywhere else except in like... Tumblr photo compilations. At least the character limit will keep me from rambling on like I normally do in what should be minor posts. >.>;

    I agree with Slink only you can class it up with opinions on random things sometimes or just general witticisms. "I got the nicest cardboard box today. Wish I were cat-sized so I could curl up in it." "Three for a dollar?! I'll take a billion!" "Is this a pimple or a boil?" "sings loudly DANGER'S COMING, LOOMING LARGE. SO WHO'S GONNA MAKE A STAND?"

    Just a few examples to get you started.

    Also what is with Weasyl having two text entry boxes when writing journals and comments? Is one supposed to be a preview?

      LMAO, and this is why I love you, Cass. xD Excellent suggestions! (Also you made me laugh out loud with the unexpected inclusion of the W101 theme, dammit).

      And yes, there's two boxes because one's meant to be a preview for the Markdown formatting. :3 Though I see everyone getting confused over it, whoops. x3;;
