I know very little about it, but then again I tend to be a lurker who's not really involved with the community except nor interact with much people except for personal friends and commissioners. Otoh, there were some people talking about stuff on my stream and how they'd been themselves thinking fo leaving FA so it had me puzzled and doing some reasearches. I'm still very unsure what to think about it :/

While I kind of understand people holding a little judgement for the initial spark of everything (maybe? eh), I think the administration's way of dealing with the backlash is pretty cut-and-dry awful and gross. I really don't think there's any excuse for the way it's being handled, especially with this particular situation.
Gag me.

Yeah..... but seriously at this rate it's to wonder how long this site will be able to continue this because every time stuff like this happen it just seems like it keep repeating itself.
I mean, I'm keeping an active account there since, well, I have 1000 watchers there versus the 40-or-so I have on Weasyl and make an income from commissions, but this said I think ever since the last one week downtime(when Weasyl's, for a similar task, was only 6 hours) I've made a point to keep my Weasyl account just as much active if not more than my FA.
Then again, it's very easy considering Weasyl has no 60 seconds delay between images posted, nor a image size restriction as strict as FA's(which actually gives me a legit reason to link the Weasyl copy of images and commissions on every new images I post on FA, since I can't post my fullres images on FA anyway... and thus slowly spread knowledge of Weasyl's existence every new image I post >:) )

Yeah, I was saying to someone else that it's a shame that FA has the largest and loosest pockets when it comes to art sites. There's literally no other reason to stick around there: bad staff, bad policy, bad code, bad response, bad people. But! That's how it goes, for the moment anyway.
I suppose the one good thing about the side being assbackwards broken is that you can easily trick it into uploading your full-res images as opposed to its ridiculously downsized ones. :P

It's true, but the fact remain that it's still ideal because then it's displayed at the full image size, always.
Because the website doesn't scale images(unlike how Weasyl does it). Which's why for me it still remains less of an hassle to just make a resized and fullres version, post the resized one on FA and then the fullres one on Weasyl.And then, you know, add to the desc of the one on FA "If you want the full resolution image, click here!" and add the Weasyl link.

It's fairly quiet in my experience (not to say unfriendly though!), but I'll admit my experience was a while ago. So! I'll give it another whirl.

My exact experience. I've come back here multiple times and would slowly not bother to check anymore because there'd be nothing happening...
Maybe with the most recent drama it'll pick up again but I've said the same thing before. :( Though there are more people claiming to be abandoning FA this time!
