I don't know whats going on with FA what happened? anyone care to enlighten me?

Hey, it's good for Weasyl! I'm frankly tired of the incompetence over there anyway. Been there 4 years too long. :P

Either way, I get about as many views on submissions here as I got over at FA, so I don't really have anything to lose switching over here for good.

I didn't know the beta notifications caused it. That's interesting.
I'm not really sure what to do. I'll definitely keep my account here, but as for going back to FA I haven't decided yet.

I'll be writing a long journal trying to encourage people to move over here from FA. Reasons to leave, tools to help, etc. I figure if enough people do that, Weasyl may get enough people to stay acive.

Suuurrree.
1. FA started using a new notification system and let people who had over 8000 followers test it out. They didn't see any problems and decided to push it to a beta site.
2. The new system started causing the cache to expand and expand slowing the site to a halt.
3. They decided to transfer the database to a new server in hopes that it would fix the problem.
4. They found that two harddrives had gone bad and since they didn't have any spares like most competent server owners do, they had to overnight them.
After this, I have no idea, but hope it helps give you an idea!
